Awarded an Australia Council Inter-Arts Office hybrid performance residency at
Performance Space in Sydney, NSW
(9 January - 5 February 2006), Unreasonable
Adults undertook GIFT/BACK, an 'audience project' - generating material in
response to solicited and unsolicited information/objects from outside sources.
We received gifts in the form of text, sound, video, song or film
requests, demands, second-hand clothes, objects and wigs. We gave back in
the form of live performance, projections, sound installation and online
material.
Online throughout the residency people were be able to view images, listen to audio,
watch video material and read the blog. Daily submissions were anonymously listed
and displayed at Performance Space and on our website. At the end of the residency,
we opened the doors to Performance Space
for a 1-2 night showing of works made in response to your gifts.
This was our gift back to you.
